Right Care does their own in house medical billing. Shelly Kinslow is our Medical Billing Supervisor. She will help you navigate the often confusing world of insurance. Her phone number is 931-922-1167. Her direct email is billing@rightcareclinic.com. Shelly, or one of her team members, will return your call and email as soon as possible. She understands patients often have questions, and they must be addressed in a timely manner.

Please know that our ability to submit a correct claim to the correct insurance provider begins with YOU! At each visit, we must verify your insurance to make sure that it is active, and will provide some form of coverage for your visit. This is a standard practice at all well ran offices.  We also must verify your demographic information at each visit, such as your address and phone number. Patients cannot receive bills if we do not have an accurate address on file. We will make you aware immediately if the insurance card you provide us is noted in our verification system as not active.

We also need to make sure your address and phone number is correct at each visit. Please make sure to provide the front desk with this information at each visit. We cannot call you with results if we do not have an active number on file.

There are some important terms to know when considering your bill. They are listed below:

Deductible – This is a part of insurance agreements designed to minimize the monthly fee patients pay for insurance. Most insurances have some form of a deductible. Patients may often choose a high deductible plan in order to have a lower monthly premium. If the deductible has not been met, most insurances will provide a discount for seeing an in network provider, and leave the patient responsible for the remainder. Please call Shelly if you need assistance with paying the remainder. We are more than happy to set up a reasonable payment plan.

Copay- This is the amount paid at the time of the visit. Again, this is a part of the patient’s agreement with the insurance company.

Non Covered Service- Patients may see this on their Explanation of Benefits. Please contact the Shelly so we can try to gain coverage for the service, or provide a discount.

Coordination of Benefits – When there has been a transition from one insurance to another, or a person has two or more insurances, often the insurance companies will require a patient to call them and explain their coverage situation. As much as we like to help patients, this MUST be done by the patient, we are not allowed to do it. This is usually just a matter of calling and explaining the previous coverage is no longer effective, or explaining which insurance is primary and which is secondary. The insurance companies will not pay until this is done. If this coordination of benefits is not done in a timely manner, the insurance companies will not pay; and, you will be responsible for the entire bill.

No Coverage – Sometimes the insurance companies will send communication stating a patient’s insurance was not in effect when the visit occurred. This is usually corrected by the patient calling the insurance company. Again, the insurance company will not pay until this is done. If this is not done in a timely manner, the insurance company will not pay; and, you will be responsible for the entire bill.

Collections – When a patient has a bill that is over ninety days due, we utilize a third party collections company, Rapid Recovery, to attempt to collect this past due amount. There is a 40% collection fee if your balance goes to collections. Please make sure to pay your bill within 90 days to prevent your account from going to collections. You may set up a payment plan prior to the 90 days by emailing Shelly.

PCP Change Form - Tenncare requires patients to change their Primary Care Provider to Right Care in order to be seen by us, even at the Walk In Clinic. They will not pay us if this is not done. The patient can change back to their PCP the next time they see them. Simply, if a patient won’t complete a PCP change form, we cannot see them.
